Three outlets, one each in New Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore will be set up initially, with a fourth possibly coming up in Chandigarh during the next few months. In three years, the company is hoping to set up at least 10 to 12 dealerships through the franchisee route.
Mr Ashish Joshi, Managing Director of Triumph Motorcycles India, said the bikes have been unveiled here to offer potential buyers a taste of the brand. To enable a more competitive pricing strategy, Triumph is expected to assemble a few of its most popular bikes in the line-up. Triumph Motorcycles India is scouting for a location to set up its assembly facility and will soon finalise its size and location, said Mr Joshi.
The line-up includes the Modern Classic — Bonneville; the iconic naked sports bikes Speed Triple and Street Triple; the off-roader Tiger 800XC; and the super sports bike Daytona 675. Prices will start from Rs 5.5 lakh for the Bonneville and range all the way up to Rs 22 lakh for the flagship Rocket III Roadster.
Triumph Motorcycles is headquartered out of Leicestershire in the UK. The company will also start assembly operations in India soon.
